Linkin Park's outreach project, Music for Relief, is helping Southern California recover from the devastating wildfires. The band has contributed $50,000 to Direct Relief International, a Santa Barbara nonprofit that has been providing medical supplies to victims, and the donation was matched by SanDisk Corporation, a flash-data-storage-card company.
"The wildfires are an unfathomable tragedy," LP bassist Dave "Phoenix" Farrell said in a statement. "Being able to help victims of a natural disaster like the wildfires is exactly why Music for Relief was founded."
The band is also encouraging fans to make their own contributions through the Music for Relief Web site - MusicForRelief.org/donate.
